Samsung has significantly increased the speed of the One UI 8.0 update rollout over the past few weeks. This major update, which recently reached the Galaxy Tab S9 series, has now unexpectedly been released for the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series. Here are the details.
Galaxy Tab S10 FE Refreshed with One UI 8
The South Korean tech giant has rolled out the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update for both the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE+. The update is currently available for download in South Korea with firmware version ending in BYI7. The company is expected to rapidly roll out this update to other countries and regions in the coming days.
An interesting detail is that the Galaxy Tab S8 series, despite being both a more powerful and more expensive tablet than the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series, has not yet received the One UI 8.0 update. While this prioritization by Samsung is common in the mobile world, it may be surprising to some flagship users.
Galaxy Tab S10 FE or Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ owners living in South Korea can check out the new update now. You can start the installation by going to the Settings app and following the steps: Software update >> Download and install.
The One UI 8.0 update brings a number of new and improved features to the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series:
- Revamped Quick Share: Quick Share now features a full-screen design, splitting it into two separate tabs for Send and Receive functions, making the user experience more intuitive.
- Enhanced Samsung DeX: DeX, Samsung’s desktop experience, is now built on Android 16’s Native Desktop Model. This key change enables significant improvements such as screen rotation options (90, 180, or 270 degrees).
- Improved Multitasking: Side-by-side multitasking features have been improved and made more fluid.
- App Improvements: The Samsung Internet app has been redesigned. Management improvements have also been made for alarms, calendar events, and reminders.
- New Functions: Modes and Routines gain new actions and conditions, while the Profile Card and Secure Folder have also received improvements.
- Other Features: The update also brings Bluetooth Auracast support and significant improvements to the Weather app.
